About Chevrolet Beat Activ
Chevrolet Beat will undergo a generation change soon and will
reportedly be launched in India sometime next year. In terms of
cosmetic upgrades, the car will get new design inputs while the basic
contours will be retained from the predecessor. The test mule has been
caught testing at various occasions, divulging details about the new
Beat. That said, the new Beat is expected to get plain black steel
wheels on select variants, the plastic cladding on the front bumper is
gone.
Chevrolet Beat Activ Preview
The production version debuted at the 2016 Los Angeles Motor
Show and it looks largely similar to the concept displayed at the 13th
Auto Expo. Beat Activ will most likely get same set of engines that
power Beat hatchback. A derivative of Beat, it is expected to churn
volumes for Chevrolet in the Indian market.
Chevrolet Beat Activ Exterior
From the outside, it looks similar to Beat, but Chevrolet has made additions in tandem with its off-roader character. In front, it gets the signature dual-part with a fat black slat on the lower hexagonal grille, round fog lamps with chrome bezel, reworked bumper, faux skid plate, heavy plastic cladding etc. Other significant features that will adorn the exterior are large roof rails, new ORVMs, sharp character lines beneath the shoulder, LED tail-lamps, rear skid plate, reflectors and sporty alloy wheels.

Inside the cabin, Beat Active could get a sporty instrument cluster with colour options and a well laid-out dashboard. Other than this, the model could also feature a touchscreen infotainment with Bluetooth, AUX connectivity and USB port. A new steering wheel will also be equipped inside seats will be covered with new premium upholstery. It also packs other comfort goodies that may or may not be available on the India-bound model.

Choice of engines may include a 1.2 litre petrol unit making 79bhp and 108Nm and 1.0 litre three cylinder diesel engine producing 57bhp and 150Nm. Both the engines are expected to come paired to a five-speed manual gearbox.

In its segment, Chevrolet Beat Activ will field against rivals such as Toyota Etios Cross, Volkswagen Cross Polo, Hyundai i20 Active and Fiat Avventura.
