Upcoming Mahindra Cars in India in 2017 2018
January 5, 2017 – The home-grown carmaker, Mahindra & Mahindra got its hands full in 2016. With an aim to increase its market share, the company is now planning to introduce several new products and facelifts in the next couple of years. While the previous year saw the launch of Mahindra KUV100, Bolero Mini (Bolero+) and multiple new editions, the next two years will have more exciting models for buyers. Mahindra will also focus to expand its petrol cars lineup in the country.
Here we bring you a complete list of upcoming Mahindra cars in India along with their expected prices, launch and other details.

1. Mahindra Scorpio Petrol

Mahindra & Mahindra is planning to introduce petrol versions of its entire product lineup in India. M&M’s executive director Pawan Goenka had confirmed that the company is planning petrol iterations of all of its mass-segment cars including the Mahindra Scorpio and the XUV500. If reports are to be believed, Mahindra has started working on 4 petrol engines that include – 1.2-litre, 1.5-litre, 1.6-litre and 2.0-litre.
The Mahindra Scorpio petrol model will be powered by a 2.2-litre MPFI motor that could be borrowed from the export version of the car. Since the company develops this engine in-house, the company might keep its pricing quite competitive. This petrol mill is capable of pushing out a maximum power of 140bhp and 280Nm of torque.
Expected Launch 2017
Expected Price Rs 8.5 lakh – Rs 12 lakh
Engine 2.2-litre MPFI Petrol

2. Mahindra XUV500 Petrol

Besides the Mahindra Scorpio petrol, the company is planning to bring in the petrol-engined XUV500 as well. This one too will derive its power from the same 2.2L MPFI mill that will be used for the Scorpio petrol. Similar to the diesel version, the Scorpio petrol too might come with both 7-seats and 8-seats layouts. Since the XUV500 is already quite popular among premium SUV buyers, a competitively priced petrol version of the car might further help it increase its share.
Due to ban on registration of diesel cars above 2000cc in Delhi-NCR, the company had to launch the 1.99-litre mHawk diesel engined model of the car in the national capital. The 1.99-litre engine is nothing but the slightly downsized version of the 2.2-litre mHAWK engine, though there is no change in the power figures.
Expected Launch 2017
Expected Price Rs 11 lakh – Rs 15 lakh
Engine 2.2-litre MPFI Petro
